The Final Product

The Redesigned A2HO

Fellow freelancer Garret Tichy and I had to privilege for working on a redesign for this non-profit organization that helps people in need from Florida all the way to Haiti. Our task was a complete rebranding, including a new logo and style guide, as well as a website redesign.

We worked with our clients every step of the way, from initial client surveys to final project handoff. We completed user personas, wireframes and design compositions. We also set up a VPS for our client so that it could support their WordPress.org implementation.

The Old Site

The Old A2HO

In addition, we built in Twitter, Facebook, PayPal, and MailChimp support that helped them automate their process. At handoff, we provided video guides so that our clients could easily begin making updates on their site. In the end, we both agreed that we thoroughly enjoyed working with the guys at A2HO and have plans to work with them more in the near future!

Modemaus

Modemaus is my personal side project - it's a web app designed to let guitar players have a reference for scales and modes at the touch of a few buttons! The newest feature which I'm very proud of is the Search feature, which uses basic regular expressions and built-in javascript String functions to translate user input into a usable result. I also added a "Search History" feature, which allows users to go back to scales they've already looked up with just one click.

I've reworked this app quite a bit for speed and efficiency, and I'm currently working on version 4, which will maximize the usability of the two-panel selector design pattern with features like Extras on Demand. The next version will also be compatible with a wider range of devices, and also add some new useful scales for guitar players!

Emilia Jozefa is a photographer and graduate from School of Visual Arts, NY. She needed a very basic portfolio webpage for showing to potential employers. I elected to use XML and Spry for ease of updating in the future. I am currently in the process of bidding on a redesign for this website, bringing up to complete web standards and using a PHP/MySQL CMS so that Emilia can update these galleries on her own.
